Skin & Bones 01:29
In the beginning was the Word with God The Word through which creation came The light that shined That darkness never overcame The true light of the world To dwell among God’s very own Grace upon grace Come to us as skin and bones

Hey you, there in the wilderness You’re looking pretty ragged and hungry Who am I? That’s not important I’m your friend and not an adversary. But you, you could feed all the world You’re the Son of God, oh yes, I know. And you can turn these stones to bread Merely on the strength of your say-so. Why don’t you just do it and all will be fed? You say people do not just live on bread … alone Not on bread alone. Well I bet you care about justice In a world that’s cruel and unfair! It must really anger you The suffering you meet everywhere. Well I’ve got all of the kingdoms of the World and I will give them to you. In your perfect divinity Think of how justly you’ll rule! Oh and you must also bow before me! But you say that you will worship only … the Lord The God you serve. One more time, I’ll get it right now Come with me to a place that’s familiar. Yes indeed, this is the tippy top of the temple Oh, I can deliver! Now you, you are the Son of God We’ve established that as a fact. If any harm ever came to you God’s angels would all have to act. Go ahead, jump off and hope for the best! You tell me, you will not put your Lord to the test! Well all right then, be that way If that’s how you want it I’ll leave, but I’m coming back when you least expect it.

Early one morning on the Sea of Galilee We were mending our nets and our boats were empty We fished and fished all night, But not even fry would bite No time to rest on the Sea of Galilee Later that morning by the Sea of Galilee Jesus walked by, a crowd demanded he preach He got in one of our boats He taught them while afloat The word of God speaking on the Sea of Galilee And then he turned to us on the Sea of Galilee “Get your nets ready and sail into the deep!” So many fish in our take It seemed our nets break And sink our boats in the Sea of Galilee The sun beat down on the Sea of Galilee Simon fell and groveled at his feet And said, “Lord, go, please depart! I’m a sinful man with a sinful heart And none of us are worthy on the Sea of Galilee!” The sun set low on the Sea of Galilee Dark was falling when Jesus started to speak "Fear not, follow me Now you’ll fish humanity!” We left everything at the Sea of Galilee Left it all and followed at the Sea of Galilee

Blessed are you when you hunger and thirst Blessed are you when you go through the worst Blessed are you when you ache and you groan Blessed are you when you are all alone Blessed are you who mourn and weep Blessed are you when you make and keep the peace You shall be comforted, you’ll be sustained Blessings will drench you just like the rain The earth underfoot is yours as God’s gift The kingdom of heaven you shall inherit Blessed are you who suffer for me Blessed are those who love and show mercy Blessings to all, now pass the fish (AMEN!) Blessings to all, now break the bread (AMEN!) It’s amazing to see how much there is! Blessings to all, now pass the fish! You are the salt of the earth and its light You are its flavor and you shine out bright I caused you shine that the whole world may see The light that beams through you and then believe! So do not think that you can hide The goodness and justice that I provide! Do not think I’ve abolished the law It still applies and I fulfill it all But it’s not just your actions, it’s not just your deeds Like poking out eyeballs and knocking out teeth Love those who hate and persecute Love perfectly just like I have loved all you Blessings to all, now pass the fish (AMEN!) Blessings to all, now break the bread (AMEN!) It’s amazing to see how much there is! Blessings to all, now pass the fish!

Our Father In Heaven Holy is your name Your kingdom and your will be Done here As in heaven Give us Today Our daily bread Forgive us all our wrongs As we forgive all those who wrong us Do not misguide us But keep us safe from harm and evil For the kingdom the power And all the glory And yours Forever And ever Amen!

Refrain Who is my neighbor? Who do I have to care for? Please tell me teacher, who can I just ignore? A man was on a bus to Jericho When he stopped to buy some cigarettes Some young men asked him, “buddy, need a light?” They took his wallet and beat him half to death Refrain He lay there bleeding while the people walked Around and looked away A few said “somebody should help this man Not me, I’m busy, I cannot today.” Refrain So who do you suppose helped this man Took the time and tended to his wounds? Was it a pastor, priest or samaritan? Or was it someone just like you? Who’ll be a neighbor? Who do you find to care for? The need’s in front of you, right there, you can’t ignore. Go be a neighbor, go and show love and mercy, So says the teacher, who called us all to be.

I want to catch my breath I’ve worn out sandals walking I need a little rest I feel like I’m still moving From town to town fast enough to kick a cloud of dust up Please, Jesus, stop a while the twelve of us have had enough of and immediately I have lost track of all the places where he taught and healed I cannot count anymore the demons he silenced and expelled the deaf who heard, the blind who saw the lame who walked on their own feet the crowds who followed us hoping just to touch or maybe meet oh, who can count them all? Do you remember when he told the dead young girl, “awake, arise!” Or when he walked on water, calmed the seas and cleared the skies and we were all shocked and surprised! oh, and immediately So here we are walking through Jerusalem The crowds sing “hosanna!” and lay their coats and palms before him What happens next? Do we make him king of Israel? And then kick out the Romans? Is this his kingdom? I wish we could tell... oh, and immediately...

Jesus met with Simon the Leper when a woman with an alabaster jar of expensive ointment poured it down upon his head Then the twelve, irate, offended “That bottle that she upended could have been sold for the poor!” when Jesus turned to them and said, “Why do you trouble her? She’s done a beautiful thing! She is preparing me to die. You’ll have the poor always they’ll be with you But me, soon I say goodbye.” And at supper in the rented room dishes clanked in the silent gloom Jesus looked upon the twelve and told them one would soon betray him Then the twelve, shocked and stunned “Is it me? Am I the one?” Jesus grabbed some bread and blessed it took the cup and passed it round “This is my body broken for you do this, remember me. This is my blood shed for you do this, remember me.”

Oh, things have not gone as we planned To you, O’ priests, I come reluctantly He will not free Jerusalem If I hand him over to you will you give me Thirty pieces of silver, in the palm of my hand Thirty pieces of silver, to betray my friend Here he is, in the garden with his followers He’s the one on whom I plant a kiss Do not give a care about the crowd See, I told you, he would not resist Thirty pieces of silver, in the palm of my hand Thirty pieces of silver, to betray my friend The priests all struck him each in turn “Tell us, are you the Christ, the Son of God?” And “He deserves death for such blasphemy!” But my friend just stood there, he did not respond Thirty pieces of silver, in the palm of my hand Thirty pieces of silver, I betrayed my friend Now to the Romans he’s been sent They’ll kill him sure as I am breathing This is not right, he’s innocent I can’t imagine him forgiving me Thirty pieces of silver, in the palm of my hand Thirty pieces of silver, I betrayed my friend Thirty pieces of silver, take them, I don’t care Thirty pieces of silver can’t ease my despair

Poured Out 04:04
My God, My God, you have forsaken me! Why are you so far away from saving me? I am surrounded, no longer a man Hear them taunt me, “Let the Lord save him if he can!” My God, My God, I feel the hot breath of doom and death, blowing down the back of my neck I am poured out, water in the dust Hear them gloating, “This is the end of his trust!” But you, oh Lord, are not so far away And when our Fathers cried to you You came and saved them and they were not put to shame And so I cry out, save me too, save me too, save me too! My God, My God, the earth will remember You are Salvation, reigning forever The wealthy shall worship you, and you will feed the poor Your works of justice proclaimed to a people not yet born My God, My God It is finished

Early the third day the women all went the women all went, the women all went Early the third day the women all went to His tomb to weep and mourn When they got there they found that the stone had been rolled the stone had been rolled, the stone had been rolled When they got there they found that the stone had been rolled And his tomb was open Upon the stone sat an angel of God an angel of God, an angel of God Upon the stone sat an angel of God In clothes as white as snow “Do not be afraid, for the Jesus you seek the Jesus you seek, the Jesus you seek Do not be afraid, for the Jesus you seek Is no longer here!” “Now, go tell his friends that he’s raised from the dead! Raised from the dead! Raised from the dead! Now, go tell his friends that he’s raised from the dead! And he goes to Galilee!” Jesus commanded them, “Baptize and teach! Baptize and teach! Baptize and teach!” Jesus commanded them, “Baptize and teach! As I have taught you!” “And behold I will always be with you! Always be with you! Always be with you! And behold I will always be with you Until the end of the age!”

On the road to Emmaus We were alone, no one with us We left in fear And it was clear They got him, they might just get us A stranger met us as we walked along the road That leads away from Jerusalem We told him all about the last few days He made it clear to us just what it all meant On the road to Emmaus We met a stranger who walked with us And in his teaching And in his preaching He made our hearts burn within us We asked him not to go but stay the night And join us as our honored guest Around a table we all reclined And he took some bread which he then blessed On the road to Emmaus It seems our Lord had walked with us But we did not see him We did not know him Until he broke some bread with us Until he broke some bread with us

You there with the rock in your hand And all of the laws you say you understand From which you accuse, you indict and you curse You grab that rough stone and you hurl it first I don’t care how right? you might be Soon you will have to deal with me There’s no place for you to go where I won’t find And when I get you I’ll strike you down blind Saul, my dear Saul, why do you persecute All those who love me and know I’m the truth? Oh my new friend, I’ve just begun Now, go! And you’ll be told what must be done When the darkness is washed from your eyes You’ve eaten a little and you are baptized I’ll give you the words which you’ll write and proclaim My love and mercy to gentiles and kings! And you will suffer much for my name But you’re now mine, you’ll never be the same
